BaseUp creates technology to give employees flexible access to their office parking. As businesses transition to hybrid working, our products support them with better commuting options. Our dedicated team, market-leading technology, and industry partnerships are reshaping how businesses and employees think about office parking.

We launched in Australia in 2017, since then we’ve worked with some of the world's largest employers and property groups to make over 1 million commutes a little easier. In 2021 we launched our first U.S. office to bring flexibility to the world’s largest parking market.

You’ll be joining our small but skilled in-house technical team, working on an established but modern technical platform to bring features to life in our mobile app. As a mobile app developer at BaseUp, you will:

• Work with the client success team to devise solutions to complex user problems;
• Develop and test app updates, including fixing customer issues and implementing new features;
• Control the rollout of monthly app releases across the Apple App and Google Play stores; and
• Help to guide the direction of our mobile offering in product meetings.

BaseUp has a modern, cloud-based, service-oriented architecture (not microservices!), with a heavy focus on automation and efficient tooling:

• Containerised services are developed in TypeScript and Go and built using Bazel, for fast, reproducible builds;
• CI/CD runs in GitHub and Terraform Cloud — deployment of service updates takes a matter of minutes;
• Infrastructure runs on Google Cloud Platform; and
• DataDog is our centralised observability and security platform, and we integrate with Auth0, Stripe and Twilio.

This is a diverse role within BaseUp’s tech team. You’ll have autonomy to work on long-term projects, and be working closely with our Australian operations team.

Our ideal candidates will have:

• Used React Native to build mobile applications;
• Launched apps on both iOS and Android;
• A customer-focused approach to development; and
• Experience creating native mobile apps in Swift or Java (nice to have).

You’ll also have the opportunity to get involved with the following, if you’re interested:

• Back end development;
• Embedded software;
• IoT devices; and
• Deploying cloud services on Kubernetes.
